which part of China has the prettiest girls?

Accomplished-Tax7848

shanghai

Zou-KaiLi

Funny way of spelling Sichuan.

Acceptable_Cookie_61

Did you mean Canton?

Zou-KaiLi

Ask any local Guangzhou lad and he will say Sichuan ladies are more beautiful. I fucking love the city and have to agree, thankfully there are loads of migrant workers there.

zvekl

Even the cleaning ladies are hot in Sichuan

neptunenotdead

They're not from Shanghai lol. Sichuan and Liaoning.

SithLordDante

Non-chinese here. But can confirm.

Alarming_Fox6096

Funny way to say Beijing

veedub447

Harbin has the most beautiful women.

newaccount47

I feel like I wasted my years in Shanghai....

njkrut

Answering the important questions. Cheers.

YamanakaFactor

Wherever it is, shitty fashion ruins it.

teachdove5000

Do you think the Chinese government will be overthrown anytime soon.

Accomplished-Tax7848

Not soon, the Chinese have no courage

sockswithtoesinthem

This makes me sad. Wishing you safety and health!

Blackdown_

How do you view people who are not Han Chinese?

Accomplished-Tax7848

People who have never met ethnic minorities in life, in fact, the ethnic minorities in China are almost the same as the Han people

newaccount47

Xinjiang and Tibet have entered the chat.

Accomplished-Tax7848

Your avatar is the character from Steins;Gate, the character who looks like a girl is actually a boy

Fair_Strawberry_6635

It's not about courage. It's about unity. And China is not cohesive at all. There's no sense of neighborhood and certainly, you can forget about caring about anyone outside your city. Then you have the incredible distrust of everyone. You have volunteers lining up to bully you. To snitch on you. There's no social security and so, Da Bai and anyone else will do any kind of immoral thing that's asked of them. Beat people. Lock people up. Kill their pets. That list goes on and on. Those that wouldn't do that know that their courage to stand against the CCP will give them nothing. Like the Sitong Bridge Guy. He's gone now. And he's barely known or just forgotten - even by people that know him. It's not against you, op. It's just how I see it. And it's all because of the CCP.

Accomplished-Tax7848

I was scolded by da bai because I didn't wear a mask

Fair_Strawberry_6635

Modern day Red Guards

PolitiklyIncorrect

Brother, this makes me sad but I feel you, as I lived in China almost 7 years. Hugs, hang in there 😢🤗 Making this post shows you have courage, and we are starting to see people also standing up with courage

Alarming_Fox6096

I kinda wish we could airdrop food or whatever y’all needed. Would probably get shot down though

Acrobatic_Release_14

I don't think it's about courage. Chinese people in times long past have always risen up against dynasties led by corrupt officials and incompetent emperors which is exactly what is happening today. The CCP is just another imperial dynasty with Xi as the emperor and the CCP as his eunuchs. The problem is one of organisation and Chinese people being able to come together. But the Chinese people have great ingenuity, like when they were ruled by the Yuan dynasty and passed messages in mooncakes to overthrow them. Coincidentally or otherwise, this was also done during a period where they had rumours of a deadly plague (pandemic) spreading around. You might know this story.

SOF_cosplayer

The US citizens are in solidarity with your struggle as well. We have a similar problem with billionaire cooperations making our laws and causing corruption.

LightFu86

Just thinking about Russians won't take off Putin, Burmese won't overthrow the millitary government, and Iranian won't take off Khamenei for next decades. Even worse, if the WWIII happens, the free world will be under danger.

Mooge74

War and the threat of war has been a constant for most of recorded history. Realistically, a conscript army of brain washed thugs who would rather live face down in the gutter than stand up and overthrow their own dictators on one side. On the other free men and women who volunteer to put their lives on the line to defend their loved ones and their way of life. Just look at the Ukrainian war. Dictatorships, Communism, Theocracies. All case studies in failure.

nemo1080

Do people feel oppressed in reality or are they happy ?

Accomplished-Tax7848

Depressed, like me, I'm locked in my community and can't go outside, in fact I'm going crazy, I can't even live a normal life

FitPast1362

Get out if you can. Come to Europe you will be free.

Accomplished-Tax7848

it's very difficult

newaccount47

We welcome you to the USA if you can make it brother. Wish you could enjoy your freedom.

LightFu86

Reminder: CCP confiscates people's passports and still not issuing new ones.

nemo1080

Sorry dude

LilJesuit

Stay safe, praying for ya.

Saigon2391

What is your own personal opinion of the government and how do you wish it would respond to the current world events. What are peoples attitude towards the Russo-Ukraine war?

Accomplished-Tax7848

The Chinese government is not a government in the modern sense, it is more like a huge empire, and the Chinese people generally support Russia

enstillfear

That’s sad. I believe it’s because the CCP thinks it has something to gain from Russia losing the war. It's disgusting. Not surprising. They don't care about the cost of human lives as long as it benefits the CCP.

Accomplished-Tax7848

Because the interests of Russia and the CCP are bound

Parking-Jel

Are you able to recite by heart the three caracter classical?

Accomplished-Tax7848

CrimsonReign07

Just wanted to offer a word: I wish the best for you and the rest of the people in China. I know the future doesn’t look particularly bright, and I have more than a few bad things to say about the CCP, but my time in China was great, met some wonderful people, and loved the culture I experienced. I’d love to go back in better days. You guys are in our minds, love from the US.

Accomplished-Tax7848

thank you for your good wishes! Where have you been in China?

CrimsonReign07

Truthfully I don’t remember the city’s name. It was a northern city in the region famous for a special soy sauce, some of which I think I still have at home and it’s been… 15 years? (I’ll not be putting it on anything any time soon lol) We were doing esl classes at a university for a bit less than a month during Christmas time.

Accomplished-Tax7848

Well, fifteen years ago I was four years old, soy sauce? Is it a city called Luzhou? In fact, I haven’t been to most of China, I have hardly tried to travel, when I was a child, my mother bought a Christmas tree for Christmas, and secretly put Christmas gifts in the room, haha, now China has banned Christmas

Hermorah

Regarding travel. I know you said you are unemployed and with the current lockdown it is out of the question right now anyway, but when/if the lockdown gets lifted are you planning to get out of China? I know I would try to find a job in maybe Taiwan and leave on the first opportunity.

Accomplished-Tax7848

China has been locked down for three years, maybe I will never be able to go abroad again

Hermorah

Maybe I am just ill informed, which very well might be the case, but I kinda doubt that. I see no way how China's economy would survive if it keeps all/most of it's people under house arrest. Surely eventually the CCP will be forced to lift the lockdown? Honestly I don't even understand why they are going so overborad. Clearly they are aware that it is working for the rest of the world too. Does the CCP really think locking so many people up causes less harm than covid would. Or are they using covid as a convenient excuse to lock certain people up for other reasons? Anyhow I hope you get through this, stay strong don't let winnie pooh win. I have seen some scary vids on here of chinese people jumping to their death because of the lockdown, which makes me unbelievably sad. Anyway best wishes from Germany and thank you very much for giving us this little insight. I found it really interesting reading through this thread.

Objective-District10

Because people are not the CCP’s first concern anymore. In 2020 the rest of the world was in pretty bad shape because of covid, and CCP was doing all these propaganda saying that western societies will fail. I was in China at that time and almost all my friends thought the west is extremely dangerous and idiotic thanks to the propaganda. A relative came to my house claiming the western world to be a “monkey state” due to the roaring covid cases and numbers. The toxicity of the virus has decreased after several mutations but CCP can't take back their words, so they are doing all this crazy shit because Xi Jinping has problems dealing with his ego. Besides lockdown gives government more power to enforce whatever policies they want.

Accomplished-Tax7848

Thank you for this German friend. I like German beer very much. Maybe you think the CCP is not afraid of affecting the economy by doing this? Yes, the CCP doesn’t care. They only care about maintaining their rule. As long as they want to continue the red dynasty, they will do whatever it takes. In their eyes, the people are just the batteries that keep the system running. There are so many Chinese people that they can’t die

National_Plate

How is Mao's legacy taught in schools? How do schools handle topics like the Great Leap forward, cultural revolution, etc.? Lastly, Chinese leaders especially Xi Jinping tout Marxism constantly do most Chinese people still believe in or support Marxism... Even after decades of growth under more a more market system?

Accomplished-Tax7848

The textbook was full of brainwashing lies. The teacher would show us a lot of communist videos. I remember when I was in primary school, I shed tears when I saw the sacrifice of soldiers, and tears filled my eyes when I saw the national flag. This means that China will gradually become North Korea

Objective-District10

My class was cheering (including me) after learning there was a huge earthquake in Japan when the CCP did Chinese people 10000x dirtier than the Japanese but we were never taught that. I was in third grade, it was disgusting and I felt sick that I ever cheered for something like that.

Accomplished-Tax7848

dehumanized

Accomplished-Tax7848

The school is just the first layer of brainwashing. The second layer is the Internet. The propaganda department of the Communist Party is all over the Internet in China

Alan1189

Came from Vietnam & those incidents are never exist or anybody publicly talk about it can face jail time. Communists never show theirs failures

NDinoGuy

On a scale from 1 to 10, how would you rate China, Taiwan, and the US?

Accomplished-Tax7848

0 points for China, 6 points for the United States, 7 points for Taiwan

JarJarBinks237

Taiwan is so based. Imagine getting so rich, free and powerful while being threatened all the time by a mad dictatorship across the strait and with no international recognition.

-Neem0-

It's not like Taiwan has no actual support from the west, tho Based nonetheless

Accomplished-Tax7848

As far as I know, America's problems are guns, drugs, racial discrimination, etc., but in my opinion, China's problems are more serious, and I can't live a normal life. I give 0 points

Wokeman1

Guns are the reason why the US has yet to become China. The ability to defend yourself is a naturally ordained right

mrbig974

European countries didn’t became China/dictatorship and have no guns…in comparison the guns violence is nothing compared to what’s happening in the US. We don’t fear being shot everyday and schools shootings isn’t a thing. Finally most of the counter-power are still powerful and working well enough via institutions. So far USA showed that only bad people and extremists will use their guns to impose their view, their is no such thing as the « good people defending themselves ».

TheKingOfRooks

Nobody feels paranoid about being shot every day unless they live in fucking Chicago, the city with the most strict gun laws in the nation funnily enough. The reason you see only the bad things is because that's what gets views for the media, it's a Healthcare and mental health crisis the root of the problem is our absolutely horrible Healthcare system and a stigma around mental health that's only gotten less prominent in the last 5-10 years. Disarming the populace is the textbook move that precedes tyranny, it even happened in feudal Japan with the samurai.

Wokeman1

I reiterate my point. The right to defend yourself is a naturally ordained right. FULL STOP. In most Europian nations you don't have the right to free speech and you don't have the right to defend yourself. Those are huge red flags for me, Finland being one of the few exceptions. Edit: Mexico has no gun rights and it is one of the most violent nations on earth. You are more likely to get killed as a reporter in Mexico than any other nation on earth. We're already starting to see the breakdown of European society as a result of decades of socialist policies with Europe starting to become hyper nationalized in the case of the UK, Germany failing so spectacularly at govt backed "green initiatives" that they're having to fire back up their coal fired power plants, and most of the rest littered with obscene amounts of violence due to the "in good faith", but extremely ignorant move to become "multicultural" by bringing refugees with completely different cultures and values systems into their narions which have greatly contributed to this breakdown of societal standards. To clarify, I believe in immigration as a natural mechanism but the way Europe is doing it is not going to be good long term. So yes, please continue to tell me about how much better Europe is than the country with the most most exports, largest economy, and most fundamental human rights. I'll go get some popcorn

newaccount47

Those issues are actually way less severe than you're led to believe. There are 40,000 killed a year from guns, but what they don't say - most of those are suicides. You're extremely unlikely to die by a gun if you aren't in a gang or own a gun yourself. The racial discrimination is waaay overblown and highly politicized in the US right now. The data does not back up recent claims of police being more violent to certain racial groups even. There's propaganda even in the US unfortunately. We are the most diverse country on the planet and 99% of the time, we get along and celebrate our differences, as literally - that's what makes america great. Drugs affects a lot of people, but it's also a matter of perspective. Alcohol kills 140,000 people in the US each year while 90,000 died from overdoses, yet somehow it's a "drug epidemic" and alcohol isn't even mentioned. As someone who has lived in China for many years and lived in Miami, NY, and LA - I still pick the US. China did feel safer, but I felt it was only a matter of time before the government would fuck things up - and I was right. I'm glad I chose the US.

Accomplished-Tax7848

Almost no merit, I'm living in Truman's world

Just reading the comments and must say in surprised of your insights. How come you brake away from the ccp narrative? And my heart goes out to you... I cant imagine what is must be like living in that system... Take care of yourself!

Accomplished-Tax7848

Thank you for your kindness, China has turned into a dystopia, cyberpunk world, the CCP uses high technology to control people, you can never imagine

tissaea

Do you think the state police and dabai empathize with the citizen under lockdown? Do you think they listen to the reasoning of people around them in general?

Accomplished-Tax7848

Dabai are actually the people around us. They release the greatest malice after wearing a mask. No one knows who they are, and they have high salaries. They make hundreds of dollars a day to be a dabai.

tissaea

how does one become dabai? I always assume they are medical practitioners..

Accomplished-Tax7848

Online recruitment can be used as dabai, and the salary varies according to different。 communitiesmost of them are not doctors

lil___swallow

i did see some photos of ths new foxcon riot of some policeman feels dissapotiend and dont know how to deal with life. the fact is, they are scared, everyone is. its in our bones that we are used to authtorian government, but i believe the younger generation will eventually make big changes

Holiday_Newspaper470

What do you guys think about Taiwan, Taiwanese people and forceful reunification?

Accomplished-Tax7848

I have a lot of affection for Taiwan. My hometown is across the sea from Taiwan, and the customs and religious beliefs are very similar. I have never had any contact with Taiwanese in reality. Unification is actually very absurd. The logic of the Chinese government is to speak the same language and have the same blood, which is to unify into one country. According to this logic, why does the United States not unify the United Kingdom?

Holiday_Newspaper470

Thanks for that. Would you say that’s the consensus amongst majority of the Chinese population?

Accomplished-Tax7848

yes

OkBackground8809

I've met Chinese who have been fortunate enough to travel to Taiwan to go to university. The girl I talked to was studying Chinese literature and said she came to Taiwan because there were too many texts that she couldn't read in China. She wanted to stay in Taiwan forever, and was really sad to go back to China, but said her parents forbade her from staying. She really changed my opinion of Chinese people. There are still a lot of ignorant and hateful Chinese people, brainwashed I guess, but now I know there are quite a few good ones who have escaped the brain-washing. The tours of Chinese people I used to see come to Taiwan were always loud, dirty (by actions, not dirty as in dirty clothing), and rude people spitting everywhere and throwing trash all over the street. They couldn't wait in line and I almost got pushed off the gangway of a boat at Sun Moon Lake! So meeting the ones who are peaceful and getting to know them is always really nice. I hope the Chinese people can find peace and freedom some day.

Accomplished-Tax7848

The reason why Chinese people have no quality is that China doesn't have any self-organized cohesion, everyone is formatted, everyone is isolated, so there is no need to maintain the community, and there will be no maintenance of individual quality

Effective_Mouse

What do you think of the future of your country? Do you think the CCP’s economy and society will surpass the us in power? Does the general attitude of people seem optimistic about this prospect

Accomplished-Tax7848

China's future will obviously be led into the abyss by the authoritarian clique and it cannot surpass the US

McFireballs2

Is it possible to leave China? And are people doing that?

spiffeydude

Is there a car enthusiast scene in china?

Accomplished-Tax7848

Yes, but China's car management is very strict, you can't modify it casually or have patterns, you may be fined by the traffic police

Fair_Strawberry_6635

Wait wait... The traffic police do actual work?!

-Neem0-

It is literally a police state my friend have you been living under a rock or what

Late-Savings2514

What do ordinary Chinese citizens think about Uyghur minority group and Xinjiang as a whole. Is the policy for that region appropriate?

Accomplished-Tax7848

Most people don't know what happened in Xinjiang

Artann

I remember there was an Chinese actress that wore pieces of cotton as a political statement in favor of Xinjiang labour camps, is it that the average people are completely not aware of what is going on or are they going with the ccp propaganda?

Accomplished-Tax7848

There is no freedom of press in China, the media and the Internet are completely controlled, and the people don't know what's going on and don't know the truth

aeminence

How do you feel about CCP defenders? Can't they see what you see? You have mentioned that you are depressed and locked. How can anyone still defend the CCP.

Accomplished-Tax7848

Westerners can’t understand China. You can’t imagine what is the highest level of brainwashing program, school brainwashing, Internet brainwashing, layer after layer, cognitive ability has been solidified since childhood

Somebodyonearth363

What do you and others think about Hong Kong?

Accomplished-Tax7848

I live next to Hong Kong. All the languages are the same as Hong Kong. I speak Cantonese, so I have a sense of closeness. Some friends around me support the Hong Kong demonstrators while others oppose it.

PsychedelicSnowflake

How is the moral of the Chinese people right now? Do they know about the Foxxcon protests? Thank you.

Accomplished-Tax7848

Morality is low, just like Sodom, only a small number of people know about Foxconn, because the news is blocked

Korplem

What about the morale?

PsychedelicSnowflake

I'm very sorry to hear that. The Chinese people deserve so much better that what they've been given. As a Chinese person, is there anything that the rest of the world can do to help besides spreading the word about the true nature of the CCP?

draxoh

why would the morality be low if they don’t see any of it? I thought ccp only brags about the god part

Accomplished-Tax7848

Because of the loss of trust between people and hurting each other, Chinese society follows the law of the jungle where the weak prey on the strong. Education from an early age leads to the shaping of values, and everyone is indifferent.

plushie-apocalypse

As a Taiwanese, I am curious about whether you believe this came about due to the CCP and its cultural revolution or if it has been the case before that? Some part of me thinks it is because of China's population. It's a curse that it is so large because the individual worth of a human being is relatively reduced. Someone dies on the job? Replaceable. Scammed another person? Chances are you'll never see him again. Need to fight wars or build a great wall? Rally the peasant levies to die en masse.. Edit: I realised the other day than 人口 literally refers to mouths to feed. That's pretty unfortunate as it automatically casts population in a negative light 😕

Accomplished-Tax7848

China is a cursed place and always has been

TheKingOfRooks

It has been since Mao, they stole the real China from you and it's disgusting.

UserLesser2004

Is it true you need a high score on the gaokao exam then a good college to have a decent life in China? Decent life as in good job, vacations traveling etc. What happens to the people who don't score high in gaokao? Also is lying flat still going strong?

Accomplished-Tax7848

Yes, the only way to live a decent life in China is to pass the college entrance examination, but it depends on your class, if you are an ordinary person, and you don’t study well, it’s a pity that your life is almost over, you can only do the cheapest The hourly salary is only about 15 yuan, which is equivalent to two dollars

bladecg

How about the laying flat part?

Accomplished-Tax7848

I know what you mean. Some young people in China have given up on life completely.

Elevated_Kyle

Why haven’t you or your people assassinated Xi?

Accomplished-Tax7848

Sorry for being so direct. I hope this doesn’t come across as rude or condescending. I respect the people of China but hate the CCP. What percentage of Chinese citizen’s understand that they are being manipulated and used as pawns to the CCP’s system of propaganda and lies? Is the genocide of the Uyghur’s a massive concern for the people of China? Do the people of China want freedom for Taiwan, and Hong Kong? As an American it’s not acceptable that censorship is so rampant in china. China has zero freedoms for criticism of Government. In the USA we have problems but we can freely say what we want about it and yes, they do get changed even if it’s slowly.

Accomplished-Tax7848

Most Chinese people don’t know the truth, the government deliberately guides the blame to entrepreneurs or Western countries, and most Chinese people don’t know what happened in Xinjiang

Korplem

What’s your social credit score? What kinds of things affect your score?

Accomplished-Tax7848

One is the economic score, and the other is the political score. My economic score is 618, which is not bad. This score is based on whether the transaction is completed according to the contract. The political score is only for the behavior of resisting the government. They will enter the blacklist. Once entered the blacklist, they cannot take planes or trains, and cannot go out anywhere. The new crown virus has a QR code. If it is a red code, it will be arrested and quarantined in a concentration camp. The green code is safe, and the yellow code is suspicious. Are you aware of the debt problem and the collapse of the real estate market? Have you lost money from the bank or couldn't withdraw money at the ATM?

Accomplished-Tax7848

The real estate and debt problems are the problems of the CCP’s economic system. Many banks in China have failed, and only the four largest banks are temporarily safe.

Tokyo_sinner

Do you think the CCP is a blight on humanity? Do you know about the Uyghur genocide?

Accomplished-Tax7848

Communism is a kind of mental illness of human beings. It is trying to establish utopia in the world. Utopia is impossible to realize in time and space. I know that the Uyghurs in Xinjiang are persecuted. In the past, many Uyghurs sold mutton skewers on the street, but now they have seen Not coming, I guess they've been arrested

Skunkapedude

Could you help me understand the covid policy of Xi Jinping? I thought the harsh lockdowns may be until he was re-elected. But now it seems there is no end in sight because covid will always be around, plus surely the Chinese economy can’t take much more of this?

Accomplished-Tax7848

The Xi Jinping dictatorship doesn't care about the economy, they just want to continue the rule, the epidemic prevention policy is a stress test, I'm trapped, dying in my own neighborhood

Alan1189

The more I think about the Covid restrictions, the more I found it suspicious. Why trap down people for so long ? The best explains I can find are 1. Asian men ego - Which wants everyone to view him as “flawless”, mean he feel ashamed of criticism. Xi wants zero covid patients so he can prove how good his policy is. But this argument seem weak because he literally doesn’t have to do this. The West need China, so if China has 10.000 patients or 0 patient won’t change the view of the world toward China 2. The Virus trace: The world has more & more questions about the origin of the virus & the virus itself seems weird because it’s non-stop evolving. 0 patients means no more virus to trace. Or they afraid that with this speed of evolution, the virus will turn to mass-genocide form, with 60-70% death rate. And a proof that the virus came from the lab is clearer than ever 3. Set up a full dictactorship government: The pandemic is a wonderful chance to make people get used to receiving order. “Wear mask for other health” “Stay home for the government” “Go to the camp or you are black sheep of the society” That order keep repeating & repeating until they become a norm. Right now we still have retail workers wear mask or people wear mask alone in their cars.

Chicago_Synth_Nerd_

The rhetoric in the media about the geopolitical conflict between the US and China is scary on an existential level. Surely, people in China are aware of this. Guidance from the US government on this matter directed towards US citizens is scarce and inconsistent. I have no idea what your government tells you. When it's not tokenized or stereotyped, Chinese culture and immigrants from China have left a positive impact on American culture. Just to name a few things, the Chinese diaspora in America played a crucial role as their labor was responsible for the creation of a lot of rail infrastructure in the US (and while they may not get the recognition they deserve for it, I recognize it, and acknowledge that those Chinese immigrants were exploited and treated like de-facto slaves and that their perspective was whitewashed partly because of how modern Chinese-Americans have attained greater economic success than other diaspora groups in the US) and provided an entry point to global cuisine for many Americans and has contributed to how the United States became a global melting pot and not just a Pan-European nation. In your opinion and at the citizen level, what efforts could be made to strengthen cultural ties between the US and China so that war and violent conflict are never options on the table (for either side)? Are you interested in music? Are there any musicians/bands that you would recommend to an American who has little-to-no exposure to Chinese music? I'm critical of historical normativity so it should be no surprise that I am interested in the concept of how supposedly, Chinese government officials in the 1970's declared that the synthesizer has no cultural bias and I think that's really cool if it's true. ([https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oahqq9OEGvk&ab\_channel=Yukes%E7%8E%89%E5%88%BBMusic](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oahqq9OEGvk&ab_channel=Yukes%E7%8E%89%E5%88%BBMusic)). In the United States, no one talks more about "authentic" Chinese food like white Americans. Of course, a lot of the Chinese restaurants in the United States are adapted for local palettes, and the concept of "authenticity" surrounding restaurant food is weird anyway because restaurant cuisine is often much different from food eaten at home. A lot of discourse surrounding authenticity in Chinese cuisine comes from a place of seeing Chinese food and other cultural or ethnic cuisines as a commercial commodity and not only is this insulting to Chinese cuisine, but it's antithetical to the culinary arts! The rapid industrialization of China has allowed many restaurants to develop and flourish in China, so from your perspective, how does the commercialization of cultural and ethnic foods contribute to your understanding of what authenticity in food means, and how has that affected how you view the "westernization" of Chinese cuisine in the United States?

China is actually a marginal country in the global economic chain, and the United States just takes advantage of the cheap labor in the Chinese market to compromise with the CCP. The Xi Jinping dictatorship wants to establish a new order, but this order runs counter to Western freedom. Xi Jinping is different from the reform and opening up group. He is the successor of Mao. China is now more like a feudal dynasty. The Chinese government portrays the United States as a bully that dominates the world with the supremacy of the West, and a stumbling block on the road to China's revival. Citizens should speak up and expose the CCP government

Alarming_Fox6096

My experience visiting Shanghai 12 years ago was impressive. The roads and buildings were newer and more modern than where I live in the states. It’s clear the country was on the rise and not to be underestimated, though I wouldn’t be surprised if that changed and chinas strength is more of a paper tiger

Spacejunk20

Shanghai is China's window to the world, so it natural that is is modern and well kept. But as soon as you enter the countryside or lower tier cities, it gets more rough and poor.

Accomplished-Tax7848

Shanghai's reform and opening up officials have been defeated by Xi Jinping, the Shanghai Financial Party has failed, and Shanghai's prosperity is built by the whole country

I think it's healthy to be critical towards power structures, whatever they may be. I am opposed to revolution because the toppling of power structures often does very little to address the foundational components that contributed to the problematic aspects that lead to systemic issues in governance. IMO, the strength of a government has little to do with how they limit the dissenting voices of their constituents but by how they incorporate and validate their perspectives in their governance. In the customer service world in the United States, it's often said that a single complaint or customer feedback is indicative of something larger and to crudely apply that methodology to governance is appropriate because it allows a more unbiased and unfiltered (divorced from the rigors of politeness and professionalism) critique on how effective policy is while providing a snapshot of societal discontent. I like to start off with the premise that most government leaders aren't inherently evil and are not trying to inflict harm for the sake of inflicting harm. For a country with a billion people, uniparty governance is strange to me because in the US and other western countries, disagreements within political parties are inevitable, and the western solution has been to create new political parties that address this. If China had a billion people who were all super educated and highly enlightened, then it would be a different conversation, but that's not the case and it's unrealistic to set that as a goal. A consequence of having a billion people and a security state is that as the security state grows, then to use an American idiom, it provides people that work for the security state to gain an inside look into how the hot dogs are made, which then introduces a negative feedback mechanism as those people gain a new perspective and in greater granularity. This issue isn't intrinsic to China either. I believe that a source of conflict for the CCP is due to how they've addressed the intersection of ideological mandates and geopolitical realities, especially as China continues to position itself as a center of global influence. While China will likely never struggle to find other nations and people willing to exploit anti-American sentiment, and often, they don't even need to look much further than within the United States, I'm surprised that China hasn't determined that the United States allowing for organic, public dissent is a component to the success that the United States has had, especially in terms of the legitimacy conferred to the United States by other nations (and offers a reason to why China has had little success in developing further credibility on those issues on a global stage). I'm a leftist too, so the issues facing China, especially with the difficulties of governing a billion people and scalability, and the ethical, ideological, and geopolitical concerns involved with that is all incredibly fascinating to me. I suspect that like in the United States, the ability to solve the bigger issues will be due to the will of the people and less by the actions of the government. I really, really would like to see more cooperation between our two countries, at the governmental level and on the individual level.

Accomplished-Tax7848

China was actually made up of a number of small states in ancient times, which were later unified into a vast empire by Emperor Qin Shihuang

Accomplished-Tax7848

If there is no CCP, relying on China's huge market, we can reach a lot of cooperation with Western countries, but it is a pity that Xi Jinping does not want to do this

Accomplished-Tax7848

China is not actually a modern country and the CCP is not a modern political party. It is more like a dynasty. My point is similar to yours, revolution does not bring good results, people who try to make heaven will only make the country into hell

Accomplished-Tax7848

music i recommend 【骷髅真言、【东北韵】小骷髅 蓬瀛宫版-哔哩哔哩】 https://b23.tv/6UfVlqC This is Chinese Taoist music called Skull Mantra

Accomplished-Tax7848

The first thing we have to consider is the ingredients and seasonings. After all, in different climates, temperatures, soils, there will be some differences in the vegetables and fruits that grow naturally, and they are ingredients grown in different continents. Another point is that meat products may have different feeding methods, and the meat texture and taste will also be different. The other two countries have different processing methods for meat. The Chinese are used to slaughtering meat and bleeding it, which can remove the fishy smell of pork. However, in order to improve efficiency, the United States usually uses factory current to kill pigs, which leads to a strong fishy smell in the pork. So it is the same dish, but it just cannot produce the same taste, and it may even be very unpalatable. In order to adapt to these changes, chefs have to change the cooking method, must follow the characteristics of the ingredients, and use different seasonings to enhance the taste. A large part of the reason is the change of ingredients, not just because of American eating habits.

What’s your general view on America/americans?

Accomplished-Tax7848

Americans cover a wide range. There are many different ethnic groups in the United States, and different states have different cultures. I haven’t met Americans in reality, so I can’t make a conclusion. Of course, Americans generally feel very cheerful and very happy to me. strong?

HarkerBarker

We’d love to meet you! I’ve grow up in California and many of my friends are Chinese and Taiwanese. They’re very hard working and they hope to do much with their lives. Hopefully you’d be able to join us.

Accomplished-Tax7848

Thank you my friend

Spongie101

What happens to you if the CCP finds out about this?

Singleservingfriendx

what do you think you DON’T know about China even though you are chinese living in China

Accomplished-Tax7848

China is obviously a big country, I live in almost the richest part of China, despite this, the living conditions are already pretty bad, I can't imagine the situation in poor parts of China

GoodShitBrain

Are you gonna get in trouble for posting something like this?

Accomplished-Tax7848

possible

Arctic_x22

What is censorship really like, and how does it affect you day to day? Are protests common? Are there foreign visitors a lot? How commonly is English spoken? How are you on Reddit, exactly? How are Chinese restaurants, and what food is your favorite? And lastly, how is the war in Ukraine viewed?

Accomplished-Tax7848

The review system is controlled in all aspects, the approval and ban on speech or work, and cooperate with the internal publicity. The censorship is mainly due to its adverse things, comments or creation, etc. There are also media, communication, education, such as the Internet. If your comments have metaphorical politics or resist the government, your account will be instantly blocked or speaking will be deleted. There is a set of shadow systems. You can only see it by yourself. Others cannot see it. This is the mark. Your account is listed as a tendency to resist the government. My friend was warned by four policemen because he scolded Xi Jinping. Chinese cinemas have now prohibited foreign films from being released. Of course, there are political review. If you want to be a soldier or a civil servant, it will be reviewed. If the family resists the government, it may be banned from joining the army. There are almost no protests. Foreign tourists have rarely the epidemic. Many young people in English will say that the Reddit platform is pretty good and can speak freely. I recommend Cantonese cuisine in Chinese food. Of course, I support Ukraine.

angry_elephan-

what you think abt uyghur independence movement

proteinsharts

Man I feel for you. My heart goes out to all the Chinese who are subjected to the insane living conditions that Xi Jinping imposes on you guys. As you mentioned earlier there is likely little chance that the Chinese revolt, but it’s absolutely what you should be doing. Organize on encrypted apps and start a revolution. Fuck Xi, the guy is destroying your country from the inside out and you all deserve better

Spacejunk20

I have heard from foreigners who lived China that the general Chinese person believes other countries are run similarly to how China is run. I also heard the government tells the Chinese people that other countries are suffering worse than China from Covid and that China is the safest place against the illness. Does the general Chinese person believe these thing?

Accomplished-Tax7848

Most Chinese people think their country is normal, Chinese people think that democracy is a lie, and think that the United States has lost millions of people because of the epidemic

kevin122000

Hope you get what you need and want.

Scarcity-Any

Are the hunger games series banned over there? If they’re censored, by how much?

HoboButtPlugFairy

Are westerners safe living in China? I’ve seen a lot of videos of them being called slurs and beaten up. I mean of course if they’re not making trouble

Accomplished-Tax7848

Recently, Chinese nationalism is very fanatical and may be targeted. I have seen many white or black people in reality

Alarming_Fox6096

How are you posting this? Don’t the CCP monitor the internet where you are?
