>Non native speaker here… I took your comment to mean that you are a non-native speaker and wanted an explanation, if that isn’t the case, disregard this response. The joke here revolves around the interpretation of the word “defend.” The two definitions of “Defend” that are at play here are: 1. To justify 2. To protect The question is asking the students to defend (or justify) their answer; the test is asking students to support their answer to the previous question with facts or reasoning. I assume the person taking the test didn’t know supporting information, so they, instead, decided to be creative and use the definition of defend that means, “to protect.” They sketched a stick figure protecting their “ANSWER” from attackers by placing what looks like razor wire around it and placing a stick man using a turret to shoot at attackers.

Capt_Schmidt

Nerd

NickKappy

Thank you! :)

Chris282829

he may nerd yet he still better than u

Capt_Schmidt

why you gotta get cruel about it? everyone is just having fun,

Chris282829

so why u gotta say nerd then

Capt_Schmidt

gee I guess I should have added /s at the end to make sure ( /s ). adding /s at the end of yours would be really really silly.

Chris282829

k

Hour_Medicine8751

Ngl, I would give him a medal.

TransportationFun665

And I’m gonna give you a medal! Gold star!

Hour_Medicine8751

Thanks, now, somehow I need to give this kid tenfold what you did for me :)

IkonikBoy

What does tenfold mean?

Hour_Medicine8751

Kinda like times ten :)

IkonikBoy

Thanks

urlocalsussubaka

The good ending

Khelthuzaad

A trophy would suffice

Hour_Medicine8751

Yes, but a medal was earned

Kind_Mind_

Creativity and commitment= A+

xRaikaz

A+ Superstar Edit: thanks for the award

TransportationFun665

A+ = gold star award!

Kind_Mind_

Thank you! 😁

BroccoliAcademicf

third line doesn't get caps, screw you

a_aniq

I would register him in a creative thinking class created specially for people like them.

a_aniq

First time I am seeing a gold award without any upvote. Thanks kind stranger for the generous gesture. 😃

Girlhefunny

I’d draw a purple heart medal and say he was still wrong but he earned this medal 😂

MrPers0n30

Wrong kind of medal too. He needs a congressional Medal of Honor

[deleted]

His hand writing is really good for a kid

theradomeaser

It depends and his parents may just really care about handwriting which is reasonable

wallabyiestea

Probably an older kid considering he needs to “defend” his answer. At least at my school we didn’t get those kinda questions until later on.

GeorgesAbitbol42

Non native speaker here, isn't it "If I were the teacher"?

Connectikatie

You are correct. Native English speakers often forget about the subjunctive mood.

intensely_human

Native English speakers who don’t read much

RaeyinOfFire

I read constantly. I have since I was three. I can get all that right if I'm writing paragraphs, but writing quickly I write like people talk.

klimmesil

People have been playing red dead redemption 2. Now we all say "we was riding to them bastards"

the-moon-knight

Worth an A+

highdesk306

I’m dead at “Sarge” 😂😂😂😂😂 A+ and valedictorian speech even if he doesn’t have a 4.0😂😂😂

C_yper

third line doesn't get caps, screw you

sunspot1002

A-?

ANTONIN118

SEND DUDES ! You mean nudes ? NO I'M IN A FIGHT. I NEED MORE MENS !!

Giovanni_Wonderland

Clever little fucker. 'Defend your answer' though what's the context behind that? The immediate thought that comes to mind is my dear mother who doubles down rather than admits she was wrong. I hope they aren't teaching that in schools.

Stranger_Ar

I wouldn’t grade this high if I were a teacher since the stick person is obviously not gonna last meaning that he isn’t defending it well

InvaderHan

I bet that is the “Safest” Answer

Slashtrap

r/comedyhomicide

ReturnOfSeq

Not where I’m used to seeing this reposted

UomoLumaca

Wait, so the answer is "answer"? What was the question?

Cobra38

If I got an a every time I would see this reposted, I would be a professor….

NerdModeCinci

Why are so many comments getting awards in here?

TransportationFun665

A + = gold star. Would you like a gold star award?

TickLikesBombs

A +

NerdModeCinci

A -

xwulfd

The kid deservs the Medal of Valor Did the soldier make it? :o

chaoticallyevil

An A?! More like an A+!

yeetboi200000

why is everyone getting gold and platinum

Indo-Sama777

Im pretty sure he did get an A or something close to it atleast

Atomic_Slasher

Deserves an A+

Hardc0ur

Worth at least a mil at Art Basel 🤔

matiegaming

S+ and mvp++

Coldest_Zar_Zar

but the real question is, who’s trying to attack the answer?? Is it the TEACHER??

HeloxDark

Me. His gold stars are mine.

schmidtycent666

I upvoted because I think it’s funny, not because I believe this was done by a child.

mastercubez

Agianst Who? The poor american education system that will tell you that you're not good enough?

Nivi2006

u/repostsleuthbot

Parsnip_Forsaken

Oof man, he ran outta ammo

C05M1CH3R0

He forgot to defend the rear.

TheEvilBatray

I would draw like a helicopter, fighting the stick figure (You know like the good old stick wars on a piece of paper). And say "im sorry but it looks like you should have defended your answer a little better"

Intricate-Butter

Give him at least half credit on any decent assignment. If it’s busywork then full credit all the way. Definitely gonna hold a nice rep for the kid though, A+ in thinking outside the box

Capt_Schmidt

There's so much too it. The way ANSWER is like this object. the wire surrounding it. the way he does a stick figures army helmet. the sand bags which go in theme with seeing the wire. its always SARGE in situations like these.

TrulyChxse

I think we all now what country the kid who answered this question if from.

oversimplifiediscool

A+ something a big brain guy would answer + free award

oversimplifiediscool

Tysm

Soxogram

r/thathappened

QuadratiniOnMyWeenie

You've earned your bronze star soldier

Hotshot596v2

Bonus points if they actually did the formula below this because they know their bitch ass teacher wouldn’t accept this.

GodTheFatherHimself

Teacher: I just sent a B-52 Stratofortress to obliterate your position, you get an F for failing to put countermeasures against carpet bombing.

guffgamer264

Don't you mean A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

[deleted]

Has anyone realized that this kid is referring to *The Clone Wars* TV show? https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Sarge\_(clone\_trooper)

Fanserker

Give this kid a badge!

[deleted]

What's up with the OP making sheriffs out of everybody?

kagami_no_kishi

I’d mark him down for being a smart ass personally

warriorking3

who tf giving all this gold out

silviablue23

This kid will go far in life!!!

Armweak5104

u/repostsleuthbot

curiosityLynx

1. That's not you, that's a stick figure you've drawn 2. That's *an* or *the* answer, but you're supposed to defend *your* answer. 0 points

LockeNKant

See this is where the red pen marks up a flanking maneuver from the left. He failed to account for the flank and this did not defend his answer. No credit! >.<

CreativeKattin

Nah that deserves an A+ for being creative and for making my...night I guess

Tufhd

Definitely deserves an A+

littlebugonreddit

“THEIR ALL OVER ME, OH GOD THEIR EVERYWHERE”

TheRealFakePmoney

I'll give it a C+. Needs a stronger defense
