Best settlement for collectibles. I usually get all the shipments and use the duplication glitch to have no limitations on building stuff there. Mirna is always useful if you wanna do it legit though
There's a few videos if you Google it, I haven't watched any about it in awhile so I'll leave the searching to you, but I'll try my best to describe it below.
Basically, start by dropping your desired item on the ground. Then enter building mode. While aiming at the item, you'll notice there are control prompts for the item, you'll want to be using the store prompt and the scrap prompt. On PS4 it is square for scrap, circle for store. Press and hold the scrap button, and while releasing the button press the store button. It takes awhile to get the timing right, but you'll know you've done it right when you have both UI popups overlaying one another. Accept both prompts and you'll receive the components from scrapping, plus the item will be stored.
This becomes very powerful when you take raw components (springs, screws etc) from the workshop inventory and duplicate those. If you start with say 5, it'll scrap into 5 screws, and also store the 5 screws. Then you can withdraw them from the bench and do it over again. Then you'll have 20, then 40, then 80. You can see that you can end up with fucking tonnes in a short amount of time if you have patience.
One thing to note is that when dropping the items from your inventory after withdrawing them from the settlement workbench, they will for some reason drop in two piles, presumably the game gives them separate item IDs when they are scrapped versus when they are stored. Pick them both up and drop them again and they'll stack correctly in one pile.
Sorry for the info dump, I hope this helps!
Man I didn't know that! I usually use the Conveyor Belt Glitch to dupe things, it's safer, you don't have to worry about messing up at all and you can do it a lot faster.
If you have Contraptions Workshop, just build a Conveyor Storage and a simple powered conveyor attached along with a small generator. Drop whatever you want to duplicate on the moving belt and pick it up just as it reaches the inside of the Conveyor Storage opening. If you time it right you can get the one you picked up and find the duplicate inside the storage, then drop, rinse and repeat.
Using this way, I get my character's SPECIAL stats maxed out straight out of Vault 111 once I hit sanctuary, I get rich by duplicating expensive items (i.e., the Marine Recon Armor) and I get all the materials I need by duping Shipments.
Ok that is good info! I didn't know that. But I will outline one advantage to my method, and that lies in shipments. I carry a shipment of every type of component in my inventory. Any settlement I go to, I can have any component necessary in any quantity. No need to build contraption bits. Very helpful if you are unlocking settlements and want to build a robot workshop, as you can immediately build a robot, assign it a trade route, and your settlement is now part of your trade network.
I do like the idea of setting up a big duplication factory line though! Love the things you can do with settlements
what are those little models on the table? i have hundreds of hours in the game and i don't think i ever seen one... or maybe i just never paid attention to them
that's very possible.
seeing that there are so many of them on that table means that they are everywhere and either i simply missed them all the time, or just saw them as random junk and never paid attention to them as collectibles
I can't remember if they are rare or common. In my current playthrough (at around 40 hours in) I haven't found any. I wonder if they are random spawns or what.
So I'm back to say that I found a bunch in the mechanist's lair from one of the DLC's (Automatron?). That's where they are. I wonder if you can find some out in the world proper.
i actually haven't played since, so haven't checked my inventory yet... fans always grab my full attention in the game, so those little models were probably automatically dismissed as random junk
*Wait, u settled in*
*Home plate? first time ive seen*
*Anyone do that*

Nice!
I blew up Diamond City (Depravity Mod).
Still I like seeing Home Plate builds.
Have never gotten all the mags or bobbleheads. For whatever reason, at some point I just pull away from the game.
Nice! Survival?
No, I’m not ready for that. Just having fun being a super hero around the commonwealth.
I have a hardcore mod pack if you'd like. I can share it. It made me rediscover the game
Appreciate it, but no thanks. This is my first no mod play through in a few years. Trying to see how far I can take it before it bugs out.
Have you gotten out of sanctuary?
I mean, he's in Home Plate, which is in Diamond City soooo
It was a joke tho
Well I'm all ears...
I'll post it tonight if I don't forget
I'm interested
It's a fun challenge, I don't personally find it hard past the first 10 minutes, it changes the game completely :)
Nice layout. I always struggle with that corner.
Thanks! I just try to make it look busy. The back corner under the bed needs work.
What settlement?
It’s the Home Plate house in Diamond City

Duplication glitch? Mind sharing a link? I'll look it up too but just to be sure

Thanks! That's some great stuff.

I like the way you have your models on the table. I was hoping there’d be a model display like the one for bobbleheads.
Thanks! I agree that would’ve been cool to have a shelf for the models. I think they’re cool.
Same! I always end up losing a few glitching through surfaces etc

Still going after trophies, so no mods for me at the moment. Cheers for the link though, might help someone else!
Ah, well. On PC you can simply install a mod that allows achievements when modding. No idea if those are available on consoles.
Not on PS4 :(
Any mod?

I’m going no mods on this play through.

Good Job mate looks clean
Thanks!
Which settlement is this?
Home plate in diamond city.
Cool, thanks.
Amazing dude! I love that little unit here are some screenshots from [mine](https://imgur.com/a/NqF9tu6).
Thanks! I really like the bar and lighting you have!

You might already have some in your misc inventory. I think you get some from lunch boxes nbut im not sure.
that's very possible. seeing that there are so many of them on that table means that they are everywhere and either i simply missed them all the time, or just saw them as random junk and never paid attention to them as collectibles

It’s where I keep my good stuff.
Amazing
Thanks!
Whoa!
out of all my play through thus far, i don’t think i’ve got all magazines in a single one. also nice build looks very homely
After I got the bobble heads I felt like I needed the magazines. Thanks!
Nice! I blew up Diamond City (Depravity Mod). Still I like seeing Home Plate builds. Have never gotten all the mags or bobbleheads. For whatever reason, at some point I just pull away from the game.
This is my first time collecting the mags and bobble heads. I stopped playing because a bug stopped my last vanilla run.
So 6 shelves hold every magazine eh, I’ll build 6 In hopes of doing the same. Very cool
6 plus the rack behind the table. I wanted to keep the magazines together.
Gothcha missed that! Looks awesome, inspiring me to do something similar. Mine are still all crammed inside my pip boy
Thanks! Once you start, it’s hard to stop!
Very good!
Thanks!
Wow
Home plate is the perfect player home. It just looks like a house in the wasteland should
I had a playthrough where I kinda made Home Plate to look like this too, and turned it into a kind of comic book shop (with the help of mods)
This looks awesome !!!Very nice
Thanks!
