insufficience

have they even *heard* of the night of long knives

insufficience

also pretty sure he considered himself a comrade 😶 still killed that fool

communism101v

This is probably a post from r/historymemes, and 90% of the historical knowledge of their users comes from OverSimplified and other similar youtubers. From what I remember, OverSimplified doesn’t mention the night of the long knives. So no, they never heard of it.

comraden9000

Bruh, I went over there cause you linked it and like the third post was someone saying that the American civil war was about states rights and slavery had nothing to do with it.

GRGplays

Oversimplified does mention the night of long knives in his Hitler video iirc, he talks about Hitler having Röhm and other SA members killed. However oversimplified's WW2 video extremely simplifies the eastern front till the point where it's literally just "Nazis lost cos winter"; he doesn't mention about how important Soviet strategy and planning was in winning.

GRGplays

I can already tell that you know absolutely nothing about how the eastern front was and have barely read anything about it

Cau3s

That's American cold War Propaganda to minimize Soviet victories, even if that's was the case the Soviet would need hell out of a logistics to train, arm and transfer the soldiers to the front line. One of the most importants Soviet plans was [the operation Bragation](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Bagration) that pocketed 300 thousand germans and moved the front hundreds of miles to west classify all as mEAt gRinDeR is dum and historically inadequate.

WikiSummarizerBot

**[Operation Bagration](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Bagration)** >Operation Bagration (; Russian: Операция Багратио́н, Operatsiya Bagration) was the codename for the 1944 Soviet Byelorussian Strategic Offensive Operation (Russian: Белорусская наступательная операция «Багратион», Belorusskaya nastupatelnaya Operatsiya Bagration) a military campaign fought between 22 June and 19 August 1944 in Soviet Byelorussia in the Eastern Front of World War II, just over 2 weeks after the start of Operation Overlord in the west, causing the Germans to have to fight on two major fronts at the same time. The Soviet Union destroyed 28 of 34 divisions of Army Group Centre and completely shattered the German front line. ^([ )[^(F.A.Q)](https://www.reddit.com/r/WikiSummarizer/wiki/index#wiki_f.a.q)^( | )[^(Opt Out)](https://reddit.com/message/compose?to=WikiSummarizerBot&message=OptOut&subject=OptOut)^( | )[^(Opt Out Of Subreddit)](https://np.reddit.com/r/ShitLiberalsSay/about/banned)^( | )[^(GitHub)](https://github.com/Sujal-7/WikiSummarizerBot)^( ] Downvote to remove | v1.5)

I do not deny, those soldiers died because they were caught off guard when the german offensive was launched, the germans used blitzkrieg against them against the unprepared soviet soldiers who where pushed back all they to close to Moscow when the soviet then was released the order 227 to to stop more german advances, but say they were killed because the soviets throw soldiers into the Frontline is a complete lie, they were dead because the german blitzkrieg offensive that was really effective against the soviets. And why I wouldn't recognize the American lend and lease to the USSR? That happened during the WW2 but if can read you would notice I said Cold War propaganda against the Soviet Union, in the duration of the war the U.S.A and Soviet Union were blatant lies like those weren't spread to minimize the soviet defense of the estar front.

BlindatedBIOS

Can you address his reply and the contradiction between your position and the evidence presented, please?

LarryOtter99

Oversimplified is better than 90% on r/historymemes

communism101v

I imagine that at least he has some historical knowledge, unlike r/historymemes users that perform apologetics for fascists/fascist collaborators.

dr_srtanger2love

Her is fun sometimes.

Cecilia_Raven

and ~~90%~~ 10% of the historical knowledge of their users comes from OverSimplified and other similar youtubers. the 90% is paradox games

communism101v

Oh yea, that explain all the Nazi apologia.

i_aint_got_no_type_

This feels like a FascistMem-… I mean HistoryMemes post.

TheOwlsLie

Bingo

Leftismisbased

Didn’t the nazis have purges too?

Leftismisbased

Historically inaccuracies everywhere

AmazingObserver

lemme guess, r/historymemes?

TheOwlsLie

You won the prize

humziyang

Holy fascist batman

[deleted]

Sure, like when Nazis attacked during non aggression pacts

Brrryyycccee

Shit Nazis say: “Stalin was worse than Hitler. Change my mind.”

dornish1919

The purges sucked but it wasn’t the blood soaked shitshow the liberals think it is. They act like it was the French Revolution all over again. And let’s be honest here.. America purges entire fucking countries of opposition all the time.

marxistweebist

stalin owned slaves and genocided indigenous people apparently

New-Consideration522

Shit liberals say

TheOwlsLie

Nah you’re gonna have to explain that last part man

dallasrose222

Look I don’t understand what I was trying to say I need to stop redditing when I’m still half asleep

washr555

A huge part of comparing hitler to stalin is downplaying the shit out of how insane nazi ideology was.

AverageKanyeFan

Ah yes love Nazi apology /s

Monke-Mammoth

Ernst Rohm rolling in his grave rn

Iacu_Ane

False by the way. If Stalin really did that, we wouldn't have had Kruscev

shrimp-and-potatoes

Tbf, if was assumed that Stalin was gearing up for another purge when he died. There's speculation with some supporting evidence that it was true. Which only muddies the waters regarding his death and if it were murder or not. There's a chance you wouldn't have a khrushchev if Stalin had lived longer. Nikita's power was growing after the war, and Stalin would've seen him as a threat.

Iacu_Ane

It's not about power, he was a threat to the country because he was a revisionist. By the way I think Stalin died of natural causes Unfortunately didn't live long enough to get rid of them

shrimp-and-potatoes

There's a lot of speculation over his death. They think beria did it, as he had the most to lose if Stalin lived longer, beria had a lot of power being the leader of the NKVD, which gave him leverage over the comrades. It's also why he was promptly arrested and executed shortly after stalin's death. It's all probably just theories, though, the mustache was old and not exactly healthy. But it would be nice to imagine he got murdered by his own people. It would be more a fitting end to an asshole, better than just dying naturally.

Iacu_Ane

Asshole? He is one of the greatest communists in history

shrimp-and-potatoes

I hope you're joking. Stalin was communist in name only.

Iacu_Ane

r/ShitLiberalsSay

navyivy17

He caused the deaths of tons of people. The day he died, millions sighed in relief. In Eastern Europe, communist regimes depended highly on Soviet influence so when Stalin died and a less harsh era of communism came around, people could finally gain a little hope.

What, in particular, do you think Stalin did wrong?

AmazingObserver

1) He died 2) he stopped at berlin

fusion_curious

Unbelievably based (the USSR was almost surely in no shape to take on the French, Brits and the US by that point, but it's fun to imagine)

CutestLars

stalin is like 80% good; though had some sizeable paranoria and his homophobia did exist

[deleted]

CutestLars

\> literally the same as modern US prisons please don't be a debatebro lol

shrimp-and-potatoes

80% good? Ok. Anything "good" was done by Lenin, if you're going to pretend anything good at all happened in the first thirty years of the soviet union, then it all happened before Stalin. The only good Stalin did was step back and let the generals fight the war, and it was good he stopped enforcing the "no step back" orders. You could possibly say he really industrialized the soviet union, but it came at a steep price. So if it was worth it to kill off millions of people to achieve that, then yes, I guess it was good.

CutestLars

please hop off your leftcom armchair and stop punching left, rule 3

shrimp-and-potatoes

Tbh, I didn't understand the point of this sub. I'm an ignorant American, so my definition of liberal is different, so I read it as the complete opposite of what it means. With that, I am an anti-fascist, and I'm not an anti-communist. I think people should be able to choose how they want to live. I just don't think communism could work in modern, multi ethnic/cultural societies. And only with force could you make a modern country communist. The force I am against. So, people like Stalin who are anti-democratic, who forced people to live how they thoughg people should live, is against my principles. Forcing people to produce is not good. But, I'll remember the rules next time I'm here. Thanks for pointing it out.

CutestLars

if you wanna debate, there are DMs for that you are a liberal by our standards
