Wow thats a lot of vehicles. Any info given of which unit(s) surrendered there?
There’s no info. Most likely Ruhrgebiet (western front). Maybe part of the Rheinwiesenlager or after the Ruhrkessel (Ruhr pocket). 325.000 Prisoners were taken. Heeresgruppe B and Volkssturm.
Rheinwiesenlager had around 1.000.000 to 1.900.000 prisoners.
Where's ~~Waldo~~ Wolfgang!
This is probably where they just ran of petrol.
Found the Brit.
Looks like not a fighting vehicle among them.
For every fighting vehicle on the front, there are \~four support vehicles in the back.
I feel like it's more likely this was made by the Americans in 1945, who gather vehicles from across a region of Germany and put them together to see how many they captured.
Does not make counting any easier though.
Why would they waste time putting up make shift tents just to count ?
